Joshua 24:15–19 Choose
it was their choice to make, whether God who brought them out of Egypt or the idols of the land in which they dwelt. It wasn’t that God was unforgiving of their sin of idolatry but God can’t forgive what they have no heart to forsake
Joshua 24:19 But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord, for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions or your sins.
Joshua 24:20 If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you harm and consume you, after having done you good.”
Joshua 24:21 And the people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the Lord.”
Exodus 34:6 The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,
Exodus 34:7 keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, (that is the unrepentant ) visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
Numbers 14:17 And now, please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised, saying, Numbers 14:18 ‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’
Numbers 14:19 Please pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”
Numbers 14:20 Then the Lord said, “I have pardoned, according to your word.
Numbers 14:21 But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord, Numbers 14:22 none of the men who have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have put me to the test these ten times and have not obeyed my voice, Numbers 14:23 shall see the land that I swore to give to their fathers. And none of those who despised me shall see it.
Numbers 14:24 But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it.
Psalm 103:3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
Joshua 24:23–24 they said with their lips “we will serve the Lord” but notice Joshua’s doubt of their actions
God’s foreknowledge

Psalm 139:15 My substance was not hid from thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously

wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Psalm 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; And in thy book all my members were written, Which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Psalm 139:17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
